Description
NF(KAPPA)B Decoy Oligonucleotides Kit comprises a decoy oligonucleotide that binds and sequesters NFκB and a scrambled non-binding control oligonucleotide with the same base composition. The decoy prevents NF-(KAPPA)B binding to its native chromosomal targets, thereby preventing pro-inflammatory gene expression. Also available are phosphorothioate-modified and ribbon forms of NF(KAPPA)B decoys.
Current treatments for painful inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and atopic dermatitis are mainly restricted to promoting symptomatic relief. Thus, there is a great need for novel therapeutics targeting underlying inflammatory mechanisms. NF-(KAPPA)B is an intensively studied transcription factor, well known for its role in stimulating the production of inflammatory cytokines. Recently, NF-(KAPPA)B decoy oligonucleotides, which act by preventing NF-(KAPPA)B from binding to its native DNA binding sites, have gained considerable attention as potential therapeutics for inflammatory diseases due to their ability to inhibit NF-(KAPPA)B-mediated production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Preliminary studies with NF-(KAPPA)B decoys indicate efficacy in reducing both pain and itch.
Product details
Each kit contains two vials containing, respectively, a decoy oligonucleotide that binds the NFκB protein and a control scrambled oligonucleotide with the same base composition that does not bind NFκB protein. Both are HPLC refined products.
