This kit is simple and rapid detection kit for foodborne pathogens utilizing immunochromatographic assay. Simple test procedure with simply dropping specimens of enrichment culture to a test strip. Rapid judgment of test results, by checking the reddish purple test line simply after 15 minutes from the start of assay. Food poisoning by Diarrheagenic _III_Escherichia coli_IIII_ is an infectious food poisoning that is caused by the growth of _III_E.coli_IIII_ taken into the intestinal tract though the ingestion of food. These Diarrheagenic _III_E.coli_IIII_ canbe broadly classified into five types##(1)###. Among these, Enterohemorrhagic _III_E.coli_IIII_ (EHEC) causes hemorrhagic colitis through the action of the verotoxin that it produces; it can also cause hemolytic uremic syndrome and encephalopathy, whichcan be fatal. Many cases of mass food poisoning by EHEC have occurred, so EHEC is viewed as the most dangerous among Diarrheagenic _III_E.coli_IIII_ from the standpoint of food hygiene. The diarrheagenic _III_E.coli_IIII_, O111, has beendetected as the second commonest serotype after O157 in foreign countries##(2)### and reported to be the third commonest serotype after O157 and O26 in Japan##(3)###.

This product is a kit for detecting _III_E.coli_IIII_ O111 in foods by immunochromatography. Tests can beconducted rapidly and simply by means of the kit.
