The kit is designed for protein detection in Western Blot membranes.
Background: Ponceau S is a negative dye, red colored stain that binds to the amino acids of the protein that are positively charged. The stain can be completely removed from the protein bands by continued washing. Ponceau S Solution contains 0.1% Ponceau S (w/v) and 5% acetic acid. The detection limit is 100 ng BSA per band transferred on nitrocellulose membranes1.
